I was lucky enough to notice a status on the Nellie’s facebook page looking for bloggers to try and review their product. As you probably know from reading my blog or just knowing my family you know we use cloth diapers. I have used probably 4 different detergents on my diapers and have really only liked one of them so I was excited to give the Nellie’s Laundry Soda a try.

I got my package in the mail and loved the retro look of their bag, which is also their look on their website. The laundry soda doesn’t have a smell, which I am fine with because it is just washing diapers and the girls clothes.

I loved when I opened up the bag and found a little scoop inside, because that meant I didn’t have to guess on how much to put in.

I put 2 scoops in for my diapers and 1 scoop in for their clothes. I found it worked super well and my diapers smell great. I will put a little disclaimer – when you switch laundry detergent with your cloth diapers you tend to have some smell issues your first couple of washes because the new detergent brings out the build up that might be in your diapers, so be warned your first load might not smell the best. But after a couple of washes our diapers smell like nothing, which is how I like them. I am hoping with using the Nellie’s it will help clear up some rash issues we have been having with the girls.

Another couple of things I really like about Nellie’s is they are Canadian (and I live in Canada) and their detergent is a very decent price for being cloth diaper safe.
