How to Wash Your TOMS

I have been wearing TOMS shoes for about 5 years now. When I started wearing TOMS no one I went to University with or lived around even knew what TOMS were (yes I am that cool, that I wore them before they were cool). People thought they were strange and kind of ugly. Well I proved them wrong.

But that is not what this post is about, I just thought I would show that I am a totally amazing trend-setter.

So the three pairs above are 3 out 5 of my TOMS collection, the yellow pair was my first pair about 5 years ago. I have never had any problems with my shoes until we moved and something happened last summer and these 3 pairs got super moldy insoles. So after wearing my TOMS Botas for the winter I finally decide to try and wash these three pairs to salvage them.

I threw them in the washing machine on HOT with some detergent and bleach and washed them and then did a second wash with just water to rinse them of extra soap. After the washes I threw them in the dryer. The insoles got a bit wrinkly but seem to be getting better as I wear them. The middle pair had a pretty big rip in the back to start with and sadly did not make it. The yellow and blue pair turned out really well and feel new again because of the dryer, but super soft because I have worn them for years. I am so happy with how they turned out.
