I have never been one to wear jewelry on a daily basis, so much so that I was worried that I would have a hard time wearing my engagement and wedding rings (thankfully that has not been a problem). Anyway to digress to the point of this post my new found love of nursing necklaces.

The first one that I would love to talk about is my Mommy Necklace. This necklace is amazing. I love it. I did not get this necklace until Capri was well over a month old and I have the scratch marks to prove it. While nursing Capri loves to scratch and pull things (this includes what she is supposed to be nursing from) and it hurts A LOT. So I found out about these wonderful necklaces. They are fully baby proof. They have a break away clasp that if pulled too hard will just pop open and not break the necklace (it takes a lot of weight to do this so don’t worry about it).

Capri loves when I wear my Mommy Necklace, especially when she is upset. When is has a big burp or just needs to take some aggression out she grabs hold of my necklace and pulls and tugs and the great thing is that she doesn’t break my beautiful jewelry. The beads are baby friends and non toxic (it is not a teething necklace but try telling a two month old that). This necklace works so well while nursing by keeping her occupied and awake. And it is so nice to wear a necklace that is grown up looking and safe for Capri to tug on. They are re-opening their website in a few days with a WHOLE new line of necklaces and I wish I had tons of money to buy some (the life of college students).

On to the next necklace. My Teething Bling by Smart Mom Jewelry This necklace is a teething necklace and just like the Mommy Necklace it has a break away by clasp for tuggers. This necklace is so excellent. Capri loves playing with it and when she gets older she will most likely love chewing on it.It is such a great necklace and I love wearing it with t-shirts to dress up my outfits a bit. “Teething Bling_® is made from a commonly-used, medical-grade, food-safe silicone.  It’s the same material found in many teething toys and other baby products; for example: those ‘coated’ infant spoons we all use.” – From FAQ section on site. It is so nice to have something around my neck for her to chew on or play with that I do not have to worry about dropping or getting lost. Some people I have talked to think that it might be gross because she chews on it, but I am usually covered in her drool so I do not see a huge difference.

Teething Bling also has bracelets that are also teethers as well. I love my bracelet from them, it is super cute and Capri loves to play with it. It was actually the first thing she picked up and brought to her mouth (she was only 7 weeks old). As you can see Capri already wants it. 

Let me just say I have now become a lover of jewelry and would love more of each of these items (I actually won a couple of teething bling necklaces and a bracelet I am just waiting to get them in the mail). I highly suggest both of these companies to get your baby proof beautiful jewelry.
