Now it is night. Night is not a time for play. It is time for sleep. The dogs go to sleep. They will sleep all night. – P.D. Eastman
I don’t remember the last time I slept an entire night. If my foggy mommy brain serves me correctly I would venture a guess of April or May of 2010 when I had a very pregnant belly for the first time. And then two others followed.
My kids suck at sleeping. All three of them take turns waking up during the night making noises that are beyond loud for my half asleep self to bear. I am fairly certain they get together before bed and make up a schedule of when each will wake and what the ailment will be. And then on top of that they get up at hours that should not be known as wake up hours.
I have grand dreams of renting a hotel room for a night. I would go as soon as check in is allowed and I would crawl into that bed all by myself. I would order room service and watch endless hours of shows on Netflix. I would nap and go to bed early. And then I would sleep in. It is a glorious dream.
Off to drink another coffee.
